The titlular reference Sultan on Horseback is taken from the Charles Baskerville painting, which was subsequently sold by Trump in 1995, visible at the far end of the dance pavilion .

The Hogarthian electronic painting is made from over 200 stills from archival video footage and an archival photograph of the Mar-a-Lago dance pavilion.
